TAKE ACTION! Publishing (http://www.takeactionpublishing.com/) is seeking short creative essays (250 - 2,500 words) written by educators who have worked within the last five years as part-time and/or full-time Pre-GED and/or GED instructors of native English speakers (aged 18 years or older).
Educators can submit 250 - 2,500 word creative essays on one of the following themes:
Submission Guidelines:
All submissions should include the following information:
(1) A cover page that includes the title of the creative essay and identifies the theme the creative essay addresses (SEE DESCRIPTION OF THE THREE THEMES ABOVE). The cover page should also include the educator's name or the word, Anonymous - to indicate that the educator wishes to conceal his/her name if his/her creative essay is selected for publication. The cover page must include the educator's email address, the educator's telephone number, and the educator's mailing address. The cover page should not have a page number;
(2) A 250 - 2,500 creative essay typed in 12-point, black font and double-spaced. The educator's name and email address should be included on each page. Please insert page numbers on the first page of the creative essay. Thus, the first page after the cover page of the creative essay should read Page 1.

Purpose of Submissions:
Select submissions will be included in a series of anthologies scheduled for release in 2012. Educators whose submissions are accepted for publication in an anthology will not receive monetary compensation. However, they will receive(1) name recognition; (2) the option of including their bio and/or background information regarding their adult education programs in the anthology; and (3) an invitation to speak at the press event for the anthology.
Educators whose submissions are accepted for publication in an anthology will be able to purchase copies of the anthology with their submissions at a discounted rate. Additionally, educators whose submissions are accepted for publication in an anthology will have the option to sell the anthology as a fundraiser for an ABE/Pre-GED/GED program of their choosing.
